A Student’s Prayer for Guidance and Respect for Authority – Lesallan

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your guidance and wisdom. As a student at Ohio Christian University, I am reminded of the words in Romans 13:1-5 (KJV), which call us to respect and honor the authorities You have established. We trust in Your divine guidance to lead us in our academic pursuits and in our interactions with authority.

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake” (God & Apostle Paul, 1611 KJV).

Lord, I pray for our leaders and those in positions of authority. Grant them wisdom, integrity, and a heart for justice. Help us to be respectful and obedient to the laws of the land, knowing that Your divine will establishes them. We understand the importance of this responsibility and are committed to upholding it.

Guide me in my studies and daily life to exemplify Your love and righteousness. May I always seek to do good, honor You, and serve others with humility and grace. I am committed to showing compassion and empathy in my service to others.

I ask for Your protection and blessings upon our law enforcement officers and all those who work to maintain peace and order. Strengthen them and give them courage as they carry out their duties.

In all that we do, may we bring glory to Your name. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In Christ,

Lesallan
