Hello All:

Is it not amazing that we, as Christians, make assumptions based on a person’s appearance? People who profess to be Christians are so caught up in their own beliefs and ways that they reject anyone or anything outside the norm. It is a sign of maturity that you admitted that you had assumed he was Muslim. In this student’s opinion, he should not have been offended if he was a true Christian. No man, woman, or child should ever be considered an enemy of a true Christian, regardless of religious beliefs or otherwise.

Through study, however, this student has learned that this enemy thing and this hatred for others that do not believe as their religion tells them to be completely against everything God taught and instructed in the Old Testament. God taught us to love our enemies as we love ourselves. God taught us to love each other as ourselves. In Matthew 22:36-40, Jesus was asked, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend on all the Law and the Prophets.”

Yes, today’s stories are the same as they were at the beginning of this thing called time and life. What do you think if Jesus was here and, on this earth, today and did not yet know He was the Son, would say about how people live (WWJD)? What would Jesus say? What would God say? God would say His Son, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8, KJV).

This student agrees that true friends and believers are tough things to find in the world we live in today. When we, as Christians living in egocentric mindsets, try to bring others to Jesus, we get condemned for our beliefs. The battle continues, and still yet we as Christians are still persecuted for their beliefs in our world. We are told how to live, and frequently because people are so outside the box, these people get things all wrong.

Many Blessings!
