New Ministry Position Exercise

The proposed ministry position is a newfound role for the Youth Ministry program at my church. The main goal of this proposal is to broaden the outreach and impact of the Youth Ministry to young people in our community. The suggested role, the Youth Ministry Coordinator, would be in charge of coordinating and managing different activities and events focused on helping youth grow in their faith and encouraging them to serve and give back to the community.

The primary objective of this role is to supervise the preparation, execution, and assessment of diverse initiatives and functions for the youth ministry, including but not limited to Bible studies, retreats, camps, outreach projects, and social events. The Youth Ministry Coordinator will further be responsible for enlisting, instructing, and assisting volunteers involved in the youth ministry and working with other members of the church staff and leadership.

You will be tasked with several essential responsibilities as the Youth Ministry Coordinator. These include crafting a vision and goals for the youth ministry that align with the church’s overall mission, managing the budget for the ministry, and maintaining communication with youth, parents, volunteers, and church staff. Additionally, you will provide pastoral care and mentorship to the youth and volunteers, organize and lead bi-weekly meetings and training sessions for volunteers, design engaging and relevant programs and curricula for the youth, coordinate special events and trips, and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the youth ministry.

To be considered for the role of Youth Ministry Coordinator, the ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, social work, or a related field and at least two years of experience working with youth in a church environment. A deep understanding of the Bible and Christian theology is also essential, as is a genuine passion needed for youth ministry and a strong desire to engage in evangelism and discipleship. A creative and innovative approach to ministry and a collaborative and team-oriented attitude will be highly valued. The successful applicant should also be committed to ongoing learning and personal growth as a leader. This position is a paid position that requires at least 40 hours per week, with the Youth Ministry Coordinator reporting directly to the church’s Senior Pastor.
