Who Would You Rather Walk With. . .
Hey, what’s up? I’m back with another post for you. Today I want to talk about a question that has been on my mind lately: who would you rather walk with? Cry with the sinners or walk with the saints?
You might think this is a silly question but hear me out. I think it reveals a lot about your personality and your values. Do you prefer honesty and authenticity, even if it means admitting your flaws and mistakes? Or do you like to pretend that you’re perfect and righteous, even if it means hiding your true self and judging others?
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather cry with the sinners than walk with the saints. Why? Because I think that crying with the sinners means being real and vulnerable, and that’s how you grow and learn. It means that you’re not afraid to face your emotions and challenges and are open to change and improvement. It means you’re humble and compassionate and can relate to other people’s struggles and pain.
On the other hand, walking with the saints means being fake and rigid, and that’s how you stagnate and suffer. It means you’re afraid to admit your faults and weaknesses and are closed to feedback and criticism. It means you’re arrogant and self-righteous and look down on other people’s choices and lifestyles.
Of course, I’m not saying that all sinners are good, and all saints are bad. I’m just saying that we’re all human, and we all have our flaws and virtues. No one is perfect, and no one is evil. We’re all somewhere in between and doing our best to navigate this crazy world.
The most important thing is that we are more authentic as people in today’s society. Ever wonder how you can be more authentic?
Authenticity is something that I value a lot, and I think it’s something that we all should strive for. Being authentic means being true to yourself, expressing your thoughts and feelings honestly, and living according to your values and beliefs. It means not pretending to be someone you’re not or hiding your real self from others.
But being authentic is not always easy. Sometimes we face pressure from society, family, friends, or ourselves to conform to certain expectations or standards. Sometimes we fear rejection, criticism, or judgment if we show our true colors. Sometimes we don’t even know who we are or what we want.
So how can we be more authentic? How can we overcome these challenges and live more authentically? Here are some tips that I’ve learned from my own experience and from reading and listening to other people who inspire me:
– Know yourself. The first step to being authentic is to know yourself. What are your values, beliefs, passions, goals, strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, etc.? What makes you happy, sad, angry, excited, etc.? What do you want out of life? Spend some time reflecting on these questions and write down your answers. You can also take some personality tests or quizzes to learn more about yourself.
– Accept yourself. The second step to being authentic is to accept yourself. Accept yourself as you are, with all your flaws and virtues. Don’t compare yourself to others, or try to change yourself to fit in. Don’t judge yourself harshly or beat yourself up for your mistakes. Be kind and compassionate to yourself and celebrate your achievements and successes.
– Express yourself. The third step to being authentic is to express yourself. Express your thoughts and feelings honestly and respectfully, without fear or shame. Don’t hide your opinions or emotions or lie about them. Don’t censor yourself or sugarcoat your words. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
– Live your values. The fourth step to being authentic is to live your values. Live according to what matters to you, and what makes you happy. Don’t compromise your values or principles to please others or gain approval or rewards. Don’t follow the crowd or the trends. Follow your heart and your intuition.
– Be open-minded. The fifth step to being authentic is to be open-minded. Be open to learning new things, trying new experiences, meeting new people, and exploring new perspectives. Don’t be afraid of change, or of the unknown. Don’t be rigid or dogmatic. Be curious, and adventurous.
These are some ways I try to be more authentic in my life. Of course, I’m not perfect at it, and I still have a lot of room for improvement. But I think I can become more authentic over time by practicing these tips regularly.
